Cheyenne Mountain birds

I don't usually think of parakeets as zoo animals, but they have their own exhibit at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
According to the signs, the walk through Budgie Buddies exhibit features more than one hundred free-flight Australian birds--budgies, finches, cockatiels, rosellas, and princess parrots.
Mostly, though, it was a whole lot of parakeets!
Naturally, Ryan and James were not content with merely looking at the birds.  They wanted to hold one.
Using a seed stick...
Ryan was able to coax this cockatiel...
onto his shoulder.
Bird love.
Uh oh!
