Frisco

Earlier this month, Seth and I celebrated our eighteenth anniversary.
We marked the occasion with a weekend trip to the mountain town of Frisco, Colorado.
We watched the sun set over the Dillon Reservoir on Friday...
and Saturday we hiked to Rainbow Lake.
This was supposed to be a three mile loop, but we missed a turn and ended up going a little further. This was fine with us because the weather and scenery were both beautiful.
This is Rainbow Lake.
This is a popular hiking trail, so we shared the trail with lots of people and a few dogs.
On the way back...
we were joined by this dog and her owners.
She seemed very concerned when we parted ways. Maybe she knew we were taking the wrong trail!
Beautiful views.
Tall trees.
Millions of pine cones!
Later that day, the weather went from this...
to this in the space of a couple hours.
It snowed on us most of the way home, too!

Three dog family

We could be a three dog family.
Riley likes it here. He's even the right color scheme.
I wonder if Cara would let us have him?

O'Riley meets Darcy

Carol brought O'Riley over for a visit.
Darcy was very interested in O'Riley,
but O'Riley wasn't nearly as interested in her.
It's a good thing he's cute!

O'Riley

Cara got a new puppy. He will be living with Carol until the middle of August.
The rescue described him as a cocker spaniel mix, but I think he's probably part puggle.
Whatever he is, he's awfully cute.

If she was in Colorado, she would be a Buxton.

Clydesdale dog

With more than fifteen thousand pageviews, "Poodle Horses" is far and away the most popular blog post I've ever written.
Although I've never personally dressed a horse like a dog, I was once part-owner of a dog that was clipped to resemble a Clydesdale!
Awwwwww, look how cute Jock was!
