Boys and phones

It doesn't matter where we are...
or what we're doing...
or even who we're doing it with...
Sooner or later...
everyone's going to stop and take a phone break!

Search and rescue

Seth lost his plane this morning, so we all went out to the airfield at Cherry Creek State Park to look for it.
I hadn't been out there before.  The airfield is mostly just a field...
and the grass is very high.
We looked and looked.
James stepped on a cactus and hurt his foot, so Ryan carried him.
This is all we found.
Fortunately, Seth did better.  Yay!  The plane is saved!

Belleview Park

Ryan, James, Aric and I went to Belleview Park yesterday.

It's been two years since our last visit to Belleview and I was a little concerned the boys would have outgrown it.
 They haven't.
In fact, we were there for hours, exploring the tunnels...
and playing...
with found items.
Everyone got along...
and everyone got wet!
A good time was had by all.
We'll be back.

Hair cut

Seth's best Father's Day gift was a hair cut from Ryan.
Isn't he handsome?
The dog's pretty cute, too!

Photographing Ryan

This is what usually happens when I point a camera at Ryan.
Every now and then, however, he is a bit more cooperative...
Yay!  A smile!

Church

Wednesday was National Hug Your Cat Day.

I don't have a cat but I do have a favorite cat.  His name is Church.
Church was a problem cat who didn't fit in at the shelter or in foster care.  He was one day away from being euthanized before someone scooped him up and brought him to the barn.
Church has thrived in his new home.  It's obvious he was meant to be a barn kitty.
Hurray for Church and National Hug Your Cat Day!

Carol's birthday hike

Carol's birthday was Memorial Day.  She celebrated by going for a hike in Waterton Canyon with a group of her family and friends.
From left to right:  Jennifer, Ryan, Mary, Carol, James, Mark, Marie and Christine.
We parked the car and headed up the canyon.
It wasn't long before the kids abandoned the trail and started scrambling up rocks...
and ridges.
They're pretty good climbers!
This is Ryan's picture from the ridge.
Our hike up the canyon was interrupted by numerous stops for photos.
Sisters.
Ryan and James with their Second Mom.
Selfie!
We also had to stop and explore this little cave.
Peek a boo...
I see you!
What a wonderful day...
and what a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday.  Thanks for inviting us, Carol!
