About two months ago, Seth left his contracting job at the US Geological Survey for a position at Mercury Payment Systems. The new job is closer to home and includes a better benefit package. However, nothing is perfect. Seth's spacious office has been replaced with what he refers to as "the world's smallest cubicle." This weekend, he took the kids and I to see it in person.
The outside of the building is impressive...as is the lobby.
We entered the Mercury suite...
and there it was--the world's smallest cubicle!
Here's a peek at the space behind the walls.
Seth needs some updated photos!
Since the cubicle was too small for the four of us...
the kids quickly found their way to the break room...
and the break room's refrigerator!
After our visit, Seth led us on a prairie dog hunt in the field in front of the building.
At first everyone was content with just looking.
Then Seth had to start being silly. Monkey see...
monkey do!

I've seen many cubicles in my 35 yeaars as wife of an engineer and Seth is right, that is surely the smallest. I hope his new company does better by him soon and gives him and office (although offices seem to be going the way of the dodo..).
Honestly, there isn't a single good work space in the entire Mercury suite. All the cubicles are small and most have short walls. Seth's is perhaps the smallest but it does have the advantage of privacy. Even the offices are overcrowded with multiple people inhabiting them. It's really not a big enough work space.
Maybe they should hire only little people.
My goodness, that's teeny - but yes, at least he has privacy! I have next to none in my normal-sized cubicle, which is at the end of a row next to the "highway." (The whole office is a neatly-arranged rabbit warren) Newest person gets the worst spot type of deal. They didn't even configure my cube so the bookcase blocks everyone's view of my PC as they're cruising by... :-( Oh well, it's not like I'm goofing off ALL the time, LOL.
I think that curved wall is pretty odd, too! Seems like his co. could do a lot better office space-wise, but OTHOH you'd really rather have the $$$ going towards salaries anyway. :-)
