We've had a bad couple weeks. First Peppermint the rat died. Then Ryan broke the glass cook top on our new stove. A few days later, Rev and I had a fall, and I broke my collar bone into multiple pieces and needed surgery. You would think that would be enough, but we also ended up having a $4,000 plumbing emergency and a broken garbage disposal.
I'm usually pretty good at rolling with the punches, but not this time. I am still recovering from my accident, and just couldn't handle the thought of dealing with Halloween trick or treaters. We turned out our lights, put a sawhorse in front of the front walkway, and for all intents and purposes, Halloween was cancelled.
Ryan didn't care. At thirteen, he's too old for trick or treating anyway. James wasn't quite as ready to forgo the annual candy fest, so he decided to go with the Ayas.
He came home with a big bag of candy, most of which was m&m's. He sorted them into colors...
and turned them into art. What a weirdo! October 2013

Tell James he has company. I have a weird fetish for sorting candy too and have to organize anything that comes in colors into groups too. AND I can only eat the smallest group first! :-)
