Shiny, healthy Maggie

Every now and then, Ryan decides it's time to wash a dog.

Unlike Darcy, Maggie doesn't seem to mind this too much.

Once she's wet, it's time to apply the shampoo.

Ryan is hoping to achieve the healthy, shiny look promised on the bottle.

Maggie is not convinced.

The bath ends with a final rinse.

Isn't she shiny?

Seth's dog trailer

Today I looked out my studio window and this is what I saw.

It's a man on a bike pulling a dog crate and being chased by a child.

Oh no!  There's a dog in the crate!

There should be a thought bubble over the dog's head saying, "Save me."

Of course the dog isn't the only one who gets to ride in the trailer.

Just another day on South Oakland Street!

This weekend

Last weekend Darcy climbed to the top of a 12,000 mountain.  This weekend she faces a much tougher task--recovering from a sudden onset seizure disorder.

Darcy has had six grand mal seizures in the last twenty eight hours.  She's seen the vet twice and is on anti seizure medication.  Her bloodwork is normal and she has recovered quickly from each episode.  Today is all about watch and wait and hope.

During this difficult time, Maggie has been very loving towards her bratty little sister.

They almost never sleep together, but they've been cuddled up on and off all day.

Sister love.

Fundraiser

James' school is having a fundraiser.

I really hate fundraisers.

Still, James is determined.  He's walked up and down our block and made several sales without any support from me.  As a reward for his hard work and initiative, I offered to post a link to the Fundraiser's online catalog here.  It is ABC Fundraising.  Click on "Shop Our Online Store" then enter HIG3265 in the Seller ID box.  Please do not feel obligated to buy anything.

The deadline for purchases is October 14, 2011.

Pictures from Mines Peak hike

Seth and Darcy survived their solo hike to the top of Mines Peak yesterday.  They even brought back some pictures!

This is Darcy ready and eager to go in the back seat of Seth's car.

Here are pictures of the trail,

Darcy on the trail,

and the view from the trail!

There are radio towers on the summit.  Here's the view from down below...

and on top!

Although it was warm and summery down in the Denver Metro area, there was a little bit of snow falling on the summit of Mines Peak.

Darcy on the summit.   She has now bagged her first twelve-teener!

Worried

It doesn't worry me when Seth and the kids head up to the mountains for a day (or two) of outdoor fun.

Today, however, Seth left the kids and took the dog.  Now that worries me!
