It wasn't the tree removal that killed the grass so much as the big giant hole that was dug right in the middle of the yard. Nothing ever grew back on that area, not even weeds!!!
Now that the top two inches of "lawn" have been removed, we're going to have a load of top soil delivered. Seth will mix it with the bad dirt and then put down seed. In theory, this should give us something resembling a grassy lawn. I dunno. I'll believe it when I see it!

Before you had to cut the tree, you had grass. I saw it. It was in your pictures!
Of course I don't think much is going to grow without a lot of watering right now unless you got a lot more moisture than we did.

You say it looks much better but it still looks like dirt to me. Why don't you just dump a lot of rocks on it?
