To be continued

James' last day as a Highline student was June 3rd.  The audience for the continuation ceremony was standing room only.

The fifth graders filed in, and the ceremony started with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Finally, it was time for diplomas. 

James looked very proud as he headed down the receiving line.

Rats in the backyard

Now that the weather is consistently nice, Ryan has been taking the rats outside to play.  

At first, the big rats are reluctant to leave the safety of their box.  They send Jelly Bean out... 

to sniff the air and make sure it's safe. 

Once that has happened, Jelly Bean is joined by Peppermint... 

and Nutmeg.

Peppermint mostly follows Ryan around the yard. 

Sometimes, she even catches him!

Hail

For the first time in what seems like a long time, we've gone an entire week without a snowstorm.  Instead, we've had a lot of rain...

and hail.

Darcy likes to pose in the snow, but she wants no part of the rain or the hail.  This is her "Please let me back in the house" face.

Fortunate

We had Chinese food for dinner tonight, and someone was really, really pleased with the fortune that came inside his cookie.
