The Beach Boys
Although being unemployed is never fun, it's definitely better to be unemployed in the summer than in the fall. Seth and the boys have had fun finding different ways to beat the heat. On Tuesday they drove up to Berthoud Pass and hiked to the snow. Today they visited the swim beach at Cherry Creek State Park. I went with them so there are lots of pictures.

Predictably, James was the first one in.

Nothing feels better on a hot day...
than cold water!
Ryan didn't go in empty handed.
Of course once James saw Ryan playing with his floatie...
he had to go get his.
Fun with floaties.
Seth brought a floatie, too.
Ryan really liked riding in Seth's floatie.
However, he was not too excited about swimming under it.
"Whatcha doing?"
Working together like good friends should.
I wonder what adventures tomorrow will bring?

Learning Chinese
Ryan's teacher Ms. Stark lent him this book for the summer.
Ryan is determined to learn enough Chinese to impress his classmate Huang when classes begin again next month.

Bunny boys
Today Ryan, James and I drove out to Elizabeth, Colorado to visit my friend Jane. While Jane and I visited, Ryan and James got acquainted with Jane's housebunny, Ritchie.
Ritchie was very patient with them.
He endured a lot of petting...
before he hopped away and hid behind the furniture!
