This is a
lorikeet. It's a lot like a parakeet but bigger.

My kids love the
lorikeet exhibit at the Denver Zoo. They especially like feeding the birds nectar.

Unfortunately for Ryan and James,
all the kids like feeding the
lorikeets. This means that the
lorikeets are not very excited about those little nectar cups. Most of the birds just sit in the trees and ignore you.

Others give you the beady eye treatment.

However, if you're really
persistent...

eventually you will find a taker!
