Piggies and ponies

Carol and Nate liked our piggie pictures so today we all went to Big Iron Ranch for a piggie and pony visit.
We took lots of photos...
because it's impossible...
to have too many...
piggie pictures!
Trillium is not a piggie, but she's just as cute.
Her pasture-mate Samson is also cute...
in a really big, overly friendly sort of way.
Poor pouting Samson.  Why won't anyone pet him?
Four of my favorite people with two of my favorite horses.

Seth's dog walk

I had a few (!) people over to the house yesterday to work on model horse projects.  The crowd was a bit too much for Darcy, so Seth took her for a walk on Walker Road just outside of Franktown.  Here are his pictures (and captions!) from that adventure.

 Dog walk.
Legit, even.
Yawn-stretch... Just 17-miles today, you know, the usual.
Character building.
Hot dog.
Sign says.
Long arm of the law.  Distant dog.
 Plot thickens.
 Approaching dog.
 The end.

Full house

This weekend we were visited by Seth's friend Pete,
Pete's wife Laura,
and their four kids--Max, Gretchen, Audrey and Cecile.
Our house isn't very big, but we made it work!
The girls were immediately drawn to my horse collection so I gave them a few to play with.
Ryan and James also found some toys to share--the Wii and a remote control helicopter.
So. Many. Kids.
There was no stopping Ryan after Max expressed an interest in electronica.
If I recall correctly, this is Ryan explaining the positive and negative flow of ions.  Or something.
Fortunately, the weather was nice we weren't stuck inside the whole time.  The girls really enjoyed getting Darcy to do some tricks...
while the boys engaged in a serious game of war.  It was Ryan and super soaker...
vs. James, Max and the crab apples.
Can you guess who won?
Before they left, I got all the kids to line up against the fence for a couplegroup photos.  This one is serious...
and this one's silly!

Todd lives!

It's been more than two months since Todd the Toad was relocated to Oakland Street.  In that time, he's managed to make himself nearly invisible....  At least until today!

Looks like the big guy's doing just fine.

The boy cave

Ryan and James probably spend more time in the basement than any other room in the house.  They have both carved out their own little office areas complete with desk top computers.  James has a better chair and desk...
but Ryan has the rats.
We're down to just two rats now, since poor little Holly died last month.
Nutmeg says, "I'm better than a rolling office chair!"
Rat hee hee...
times two!
Treats for the world's most cooperative ratties!
