Homework face

Huntington Gallery

After a couple hours exploring the Huntington Gardens, we were all hot, tired and a little bit sunburned.
We decided to head over to the Art Gallery to cool off.
We spent another hour wandering through the exhibits.
I found lots of horses...
and together, we all found Pinkie...
and Blue Boy.
Most of us had a good time...
but one of us has decided he never wants to go to an Art Museum again.  Oh well!

Huntington Gardens

My parents' neighbor, Sue gave us free passes to the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens, so that's where we spent our third afternoon in California.
We visited the gardens first.
Ryan and James really enjoyed the Cloud Forest...
and Plant Lab.
While they were busy looking through microscopes...
I experimented...
with...
my new-to-me...
macro lens.
I asked all three boys to cuddle up to the prickly plant, but only James was willing.
Ouch!

More pictures from Eaton Canyon

Eaton Canyon is one of my very favorite places, so every time I get to go there I take lots of pictures.  Here are a few more pictures from our recent hike to the waterfall.

Morning walk

Our third day in California started with a family hike to Eaton Canyon Falls.
Seth walks a lot faster than the rest of us!
We arrived at the waterfall in record time.
Both boys...
waded right in...
while I took lots of pictures.
While he was playing in the water...
Ryan got himself involved...
in a little dog torture drama.
The dog wasn't having much fun,
but the humans were!
Once the dogs were back on shore, James was there to comfort them.
We could have stayed at the waterfall all day, but eventually it was time to head home.
Seth still walks the fastest!

The neighborhood

Our second day in California was spent almost entirely on Roosevelt Avenue.  James,
Ryan,
and Seth...
spent a lot of time swimming in the Moores' pool.
Once again...
they agreed...
that this is "the best pool ever"!
We also walked down to the corner and visited our third favorite orange dog.
Solice doesn't really like us much, but we don't take it personally.
After all, we know how neurotic complicated orange dogs can be.
Even Seth agrees she would fit right in with our family!
The Kleins also have a new kitty named Bonivar.  As much as James likes Solice, I think he likes Bonivar even better!
